Wesley Fofana was born in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhone in France on December 17, 2000. He began his football career at the age of six years playing for SC Repos Vitrolles in 2006, he spent two years before joining the ES Bassin Minier youth in 2008.
He then spent another two years at the Bassin youth system before a switch to JS Des Pennes Mirabeau in 2010, after a year, SC Air Bel signed him and after four years he signed for the st-Etienne under 19.
Having come through the club’s youth system, he first played for Saint Etienne U19 against Bordeaux U19 in the Coupe Gambardella semi-finals where they won 1-0.
