Professional Career
Chelsea
The Center-back joined Chelsea youths and rose through the ranks to join the senior team. He began by representing the club in the under 18 with a total of 15 appearances in which he scored four-goal and registered an assist.
Three of his goals and an assist were in the FA Youth Cup and one in the PL U18 final stage. His assist was against Manchester City in the final first leg of the FA Youth Cup on April 22, 2016, which Chelsea won after a draw in the first leg and a 3-1 win in the second leg.
His first goal was in the fifth round 4-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. He also scored against Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City. His only goal in the U18 Premier League was against Arsenal in a 3-1 win at home.
He joined the U19 and played 13 games but did not score at this level. He however had two assists in the UEFA Youth League one against AS Roma in a 2-1 group C win away and the other in the Semifinal which Chelsea beat FC Porto 3-2 on penalties. He missed the final due to suspension as Chelsea lost to Barcelona by 3-0.
Before joining the senior team, he featured 44 times for the U23 and assisted in the Premier League 2 draw with Manchester City on November 26, 2016. His breakthrough to Chelsea’s senior team happened on August 14, 2021, when he started against Crystal Palace in the 2020-21 season opener a game he scored his first senior team goal.
FC Lorient
He was on loan at Ligue 1 in season 2020-21 where he played 30 games and found the net twice and assisted in two other goals. His debut at Lorient was as a substitute in a 3-2 win over RC Lens. His goals were against Dijon at the extra time in a 3-2 home win and the other in a 1-1 draw with Strasbourg on the final day of the season. The two assists were against Lyon and Bordeaux respectively.
Huddersfield Town
After signing a contract with Chelsea on August 8, 2019, he proceeded on loan to Huddersfield Town he played his first game in the EFL Cup first round 1-0 loss to Lincoln City on August 13, 2019. Additionally, Chalobah featured in one FA Cup game against Southampton on January 4, 2020, a game they lost away by two goals.
He scored one Championship goal on August 21, 2019, against Cardiff City however they eventually lost2-1 and assisted against Birmingham in 1-1 at home on November 23, 2019, in his 36 Championship games to close the season with 38 appearances across all competitions.
Ipswich Town
June 2018, Chalobah joined Championship club Ipswich Town upon signing a season-long loan deal and made 43 Championship appearances and one in the EFL Cup as he finished the 2018-19 season with two goals and an assist. His debut game was in a 2-2 draw with Blackburn at home on August 4, 2018.
He scored his first goal at home on August 18, 2018, in a 1-1 draw. Against Brentford, he registered an assist at home and scored his second goal the last for the season, and the club against Swansea City in a 3-2 win on October 6, 2018.
