Professional Career

Sam Kerr is an Australian striker playing her club football for Chelsea Women’s and the Australia women’s national team. She began her footballing career in 2008 when she was 15 years of age at a club called Perth Glory.

She played for Perth Glory and won the W-League Premiership once and finished runners-up in three occasions. She moved to Western New York Flash in 2013 where she made 21 appearances and netted six times.

Kerr then returned to Perth Glory in 2014 on a one-year contract. She led her team to Grand Final winning MVPA ward for herself in the process. She signed for Sky Blue Fc in 2015 and after two seasons she set a record of scoring 17 goals in a season.

In January 2018, Kerr was signed by Chicago Red Stars where she continued to impress making her be named player of the month of August and finished the season as the top scorer winning the golden boot.

Chelsea Signed her in November 2019 on two and half year contract and made her debut against Reading in January 2020. She won the Golden boot after 21 goals in the 2020-21 season a title she successfully defended in the next season.

She was rewarded with a contract extension to keep her at the club until 2024 on November 2021 after helping Chelsea reach the Champions League final for the first time. Kerr was voted the FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year.
