Jadon Sancho is an England national team winger that plays is club football in Manchester United having joined from Germany side Borussia Dortmund a club he has been playing for since 2017. The winger known for his pace and creativity begun his footballing career at Watford at a young age of seven years with an ambition to represent his country senior team.

March 2015, Sancho signed for Manchester City and was playing at academy level up until May 2017 when he joined the senior team. Sancho could not spend much time with the City senior team as Borussia Dortmund identified his talent and signed him on 31 August 2017.

During his four seasons with Dortmund, Sancho netted 50 times and assisted 64 times. His first goal came in a four nil win against Bayern Leverkusen with two assists registered in the game. He went on to set some record at the club including being the youngest player to score eight goals in a season. His success continued and in 2019, he was named in the Team of the Season having scored 12 goals and 14 assists. Sancho scored two goals in their DFB-Pokal final against Leipzig to help his club emerge champions with 4-1 win on 13 May 2021.

On 23 July 2021, Manchester United announced they had completed the signing of Sancho. He was happy to be back to England and thanked his former club Dortmund:

He was a key player in England squad that made it to the Euro 2020 final only to lose on spot kicks to Italy.

Sancho is under a contract with Manchester United on a five-year deal that will keep him with the Red devils until June 2026 after a switch from Germany club Borussia Dortmund. The player cost United 73 million Euros.

Salary

Sancho will be pocketing 350,000 Euros per week at Manchester United an amount that is three times what his former club Dortmund was spending on him. This pay means he will be the second highest earner at United after Keeper David De Gea whose salary is 375,000 Euros per week.

After joining United, there were endless speculations over the shirt number the winger will wear. It was then confirmed that his jersey will bear the number 26.The number was previously won by Odion Ighalo who spent the 2020-2021 season at Manchester on a season long loan.

He becomes the 10th player for united to wear that number since the introduction of Premier League squad number in the 1993-1994 season. He was the first English player to debut for Dortmund on his first game when he came on as substitute against Frankfurt; he then played his first Bundesliga game against Wolfsburg in 0-0 draw on 14 January 2018.
