Professional Career for Eduardo Camavinga

Early Life

Camavinga was born on November 10, 2002 in Miconge Angola but his family moved to France when he was only two years and they were staying in Fougeres where he grew up.  It was in this location that he began playing his youth football for Drapeau-Fougeres between 2008 and 2013 when he joined the Stade Rennais youth.

Following his contract with Rennes as the youngest player to pen his signature for the club, Camavinga debuted against Angers in a Ligue 1 match that ended in a 3-3 draw on April 6, 2019.

He first got the ball behind the net for the club against Lyon on December 15, 2019 after being crowned the man of the match early on the season when he recorded an assist in their 2-1 win over French giants Paris Saint-Germain. He finished the 2019-20 season with a goal and two assists in 25 games. The midfielder then got more game time in the 2020-21 season featuring 35 times ten more games compared to the previous season but recorded same scores in goal and assists.

Camavinga came through the Rennes Academy and has been a major asset for the club helping them to evite Champions League Sport in 2019/20 and featured four times before they were eliminated in group stage.

Camavinga had been linked to major clubs including Manchester United and Paris-Saint-Germain but it was Real Madrid who emerged winners of his signature for a fee of 40 million euros including add ons on a six year deal that will keep him at Madrid until 2027.
