Professional Career
Early Life
Diogo Jota was born on December 4, 1996 in Porto, Portugal. He began his football career playing at Pacos de Ferreira youth team joining from Gondomar SC where he played between 2005 and 2013.
Pacos Ferreira
July 1, 2013 Jota joined Pacos Ferreira under 19 team and spent two years before he got a call to join the senior team on January 10, 2015. He then made 10 appearances in Primera Liga scoring two goal that came when he scored a brace in a 3-2 home win against Academica de Coimbra.
Following his impressive start of the season, the club offered him a five-year contract that he signed on May 30, 2015 to stay at the club until 2020. However, Jota could not finish his contract at the club as Atletico Madrid paid 7 million to acquire his services on July 6, 2016.
Porto
He joined his home club Porto on a one-year loan from Atletico Madrid after signing a five-year deal on March 14, 2016. Jota scored a hat trick away to C.D National in a 4-0 win. He made 27 Primeira Liga appearances and scored eight goals and five assists in the 2016-17 season. He also had a chance to gain Champions League experience by playing eight games and scored a goal.
Wolves
Jota first joined Wolves on July 25, 2017 on a season long loan from Atletico Madrid. He made 44 games for the club in the Championship, scored 17 goals, and assisted in five others occasions in the 2017-18 season.
